BCAS presents first Lifetime Achievement Award
February 18th 2011

The British Compressed Air Society has presented its first Lifetime Achievement Award to Rogers Knight.

In the case of this first award the man being honoured has had a long and distinguished career in industry.

His interest in compressed air started in 1946 when he secured the UK import agency for the C. A. Norgren Company of Denver, Colorado, manufacturers of compressed air filters, regulators and lubricators.

It was the start of half a century of collaboration with Norgren USA and eventually became its Technical Director.

His name features as co-patentee on the Ultraire and Puraire range of Norgren filters.

He was a founder member in 1959 of  CETOP, the European Oil Hydraulic & Pneumatic Manufacturers’ Association, he was President in 1972-74 and President of the BCAS, also 1972-74.

On behalf of the British Compressed Air Society, he was also involved in research at the Fluid Power Centre at Bath University.

He still acts as a Consultant to domnick hunter who have expanded into filtration fields outside the compressed air industry.

With over 50 years of involvement in BCAS in many capacities the time has now come to recognise Rogers Knight for his lifetime service to industry.
