Free signal generator aids leak detection
November 10th 2008

Available online at www.plan-b.co.uk, Plan B Marketing is offering a free signal generator with the SoundSonic compressed air leak detection kit for only £299.

The SoundSonic Signal Generator can be used to check the seals on refrigerated vehicle doors, find leaks in positive pressure clean rooms, or any other task where the leak is not in a pressurised environment. Because non-pressurised leaks do not create their own ultrasonic sound, a signal generator is necessary to provide the sound, so that the SoundSonic receiver can track where it can be heard, and therefore where there is a micro aperture through which it is audible.

The free signal generator makes it possible to trace pin-hole leaks in tanks, leaks in seals, windshields, weather stripping or any other non-pressurised vessel – even a building.

Engineers can also use the SoundSonic to listen for and find bearing wear in shafts and gearboxes, find leaks in air-conditioning and many other gas or air applications.
