Compact compressor’s quietly confident
November 10th 2008 HPC Compressed Air Systems claims its SXC screw compressor range combines efficiency and cost-effective performance with super-quiet compressed air production, treatment and storage.
Smaller, lighter duty applications are often faced with problems relating to compressor noise and/or a lack of necessary installation space. HPC says the SXC Series provides the solution.
Under the SXC's rotation-sintered polyethylene enclosure is a complete compressed air supply system: The four available SXC models are based on a modular concept which integrates a screw compressor, a refrigerant dryer and a compressed air receiver within a single compact unit – its footprint is just 0.62 m2. Furthermore, the company claims all condensate accumulating in the refrigeration dryer and air receiver is removed reliably and without pressure loss via an electronically controlled condensate drain.
At the heart of each unit lies a HPC Kaeser rotary screw compressor featuring a specially designed air-end with flow-optimised SIGMA Profile rotors. According to HPC, this deliver more compressed air for less energy consumption. These models cover air deliveries from 0.33 to 0.8 m3/min (12 – 28.2cfm) at 8 bar and range in power from 2.2 to 5.5 kW, so there’s always an appropriate SXC configuration to meet the needs of numerous applications.
Barely wider than an average sized washing machine, HPC says the 61.5cm wide SXC delivers all the benefits of a much larger compressed air system. Equipped with a SIGMA CONTROL BASIC controller with efficient start-stop control the firm claims reliability and efficiency are guaranteed.
