Atlas Copco creates its first service division
October 30th 2007

Atlas Copco Compressor Technique has merged its customer service and spare parts operations into a dedicated service division. The step is part of the Group’s strategy to strengthen its aftersales service.

"By combining our service operations we will improve the service we give our customers," says Ronnie Leten, President of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique.

The company says creating a single division will bring focused purchasing and coordinate any overlapping roles. The other operational divisions of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique –industrial air, oil-free air, gas and process, portable air and specialty rental –will continue to operate independently.

The move comes in response to increasing demand from customers to provide full packages of equipment as well as service, training and spare parts. The aftermarket, including specialty rental, generated about 40% of the Group’s net sales last year.
